2. Searching and Chat Controls

At the top of the Teams client there is a Search bar, type in the first few letters of someone's first or last name to start a search. The search will pop up a window as you type, which you can click inside to start a chat with the person.

If you click on the first option in the window it will bring you to a search of your Chats, People, and Files. The files searched will only be the ones inside of Teams. The search screen will default to Messages, click on People to find a contact.

After you have a chat started you will be able to choose multiple ways to communicate with that person. To chat use the text box at the bottom of the screen to type a message.

You then have a few buttons on the top right of the chat window. The video camera icon is to start a video call, the phone icon is for a voice call, the screen with an arrow will allow you to share files or content with the person, and the people with a plus icon will allow you to start a group chat/call.

In almost all of Teams you will be able to search for someone using just a few letters of their first or last name.
