Connecting a printer

On the Server:

  1. On the desktop of the Server, find and open the "Add Printer" shortcut
  2. Find and double click the needed printer such as PS-COPYROOM and wait until the "Windows Printer Installation" popup disappears

Setting the printer as default on the server:

  1. On the desktop of the Server, find and open the "Devices and Printers - Shortcut" shortcut
  2. Right-click the printer you would like as your default printer and click "Set as Default Printer"

Out of the server or logged in as yourself:

  1. Click on the Windows or Start button (inline-image) then go to Settings
  2. Go to Bluetooth & Devices
  3. Go to Printers & Scanners
  4. Click Add device and wait for a couple seconds until the printer list appears
  5. Scroll down and click "Add a new device manually"
  6. Click on "Select a shared printer by name"
  7. Fill out the text box as follows: \\ps02.abilitiescouncil.sk.ca.local\[PRINTERNAME] where [PRINTERNAME] is your desired printer.
    • For example, for adding the Provincial Services Copyroom printer: \\ps02.abilitiescouncil.sk.ca.local\PS-COPYROOM
  8. Click Next and wait until the popup disappears. If another popup appears that says "Printer Driver software Installation" and it asked for credentials, please contact Support
  9. Click Finish

Setting a printer as default out of the server or when logged in as yourself:

  1. Click on the Windows or Start button (inline-image) then go to Settings
  2. Go to Bluetooth & devices
  3. Go to Printers & Scanners
  4. Select the printer you would like as default
  5. Select "Set as Default" beside the "Remove" button
  • If you don't see the "Set as Default" button, follow the instructions below:
    5.1 Go to "More devices and printers settings
    5.2 Right-click the desired printer
    5.3 Click "Set as Default Printer"
