Connecting a printer
On the Server:
- On the desktop of the Server, find and open the "Add Printer" shortcut
- Find and double click the needed printer such as PS-COPYROOM and wait until the "Windows Printer Installation" popup disappears
Setting the printer as default on the server:
- On the desktop of the Server, find and open the "Devices and Printers - Shortcut" shortcut
- Right-click the printer you would like as your default printer and click "Set as Default Printer"
Out of the server or logged in as yourself:
- Click on the Windows or Start button (
) then go to Settings
- Go to Bluetooth & Devices
- Go to Printers & Scanners
- Click Add device and wait for a couple seconds until the printer list appears
- Scroll down and click "Add a new device manually"
- Click on "Select a shared printer by name"
- Fill out the text box as follows: \\ps02.abilitiescouncil.sk.ca.local\[PRINTERNAME] where [PRINTERNAME] is your desired printer.
- For example, for adding the Provincial Services Copyroom printer: \\ps02.abilitiescouncil.sk.ca.local\PS-COPYROOM
- Click Next and wait until the popup disappears. If another popup appears that says "Printer Driver software Installation" and it asked for credentials, please contact Support
- Click Finish
Setting a printer as default out of the server or when logged in as yourself:
- Click on the Windows or Start button (
) then go to Settings
- Go to Bluetooth & devices
- Go to Printers & Scanners
- Select the printer you would like as default
- Select "Set as Default" beside the "Remove" button
- If you don't see the "Set as Default" button, follow the instructions below:
5.1 Go to "More devices and printers settings
5.2 Right-click the desired printer
5.3 Click "Set as Default Printer"
